Gather together for a marvellous day of basket weaving and learn how to create your own beautiful, round willow basket using English willow. The course is guided by Di from Wild Harvest School, who is full of knowledge and has been running basket weaving courses in Yorkshire for 20 years.
You will learn how to do two types of basket weave; a pairing weave and a three rod wale. In our cosy bar area, you’ll spend the morning making your basket base, then in the afternoon you will learn a new weave for the basket walls and at the end of the day each student will have a one to one with Di to learn a complicated three rod wale border that finishes your hand made basket off with a plaited effect edge. Can you think of anything more wonderful than to spend your Saturday sitting by the fire, learning a new skill and crafting something which will last you decades? Ticket includes the course and all materials and equipment needed.
